What is training for carers

The Goal OF carer training

We understand that being a carer or parent is a full-time job. Our goal is to provide you with tools, knowledge, strategies, and guidance on management plans to help you alleviate carer stress and develop your skills to support and advocate for your child or family member effectively and sustainably in the long term.

What is Involved

Our carer and parent training program is tailored to you. This may look like face to face meetings, visits at your home or in the community, or even telehealth if it suits you.

We provide training in key areas such as management of challenging behaviours, fostering connection with your child/family members, and also offer professional support for specific concerns such as transitioning between living environments or educational settings.

We regularly check in with you on your goals and needs, we are here to support you in developing capacity to support the complex and unique needs of your child or family member.

NDIS Funding

Training for Carers and Parents is funded under the NDIS Capacity Building support category of "Development of Daily Living and Life Skills".

The funding line is NDIS Training For Carers/Parents (15_038_0117_1_3).
